Remi and Zoubeida Zajac

Wine Farmers, Powicana Farm, USA

Remi and Zoubeida Zajac joined Shumei, in 2009 in Pasadena, California, before starting Powicana Farm in Northern California. Their goal was to provide Natural Agriculture products, which are full of life, and create a sustainable and beautiful environment.

They learned grape growing and winemaking on the farm as well as taking courses to perfect their farming and winemaking skills. Their two boys are also actively involved in the farm, learning to care for the animals, the fruit trees and the plants, along with helping to maintain and repair the farm machinery.

The farm is managed as a whole living organism with the goal to support and increase biodiversity. No fertilizers nor pesticides are used. The grapes are sought after by high-end wineries. Powicana Farm handcrafted wines has won many gold awards, a rarity for pure natural wines with no added sulfites.
